Ready to Rumble!

Or something like that...

This here is the last of the squad of the Black Templar Terminators and now they are ready to wreak havoc amongst the enemies of mankind!

This was surely a fun project for me, still I am quite happy I am through with it, as it means I can dedicate myself to my dwarfs again... ;-)

Ok, enough ranting, let pictures do the talking:

Sweet dreams, cya...

Mambo No. 5...

Well, not Mambo No. 5, but Terminator No. 5 is ready .

For those interested some background information:

The modelling putty I use is called "Bees Putty" and done by my former employer Stefan from Masquerade Miniatures. It is a two-component putty that he produces himself but unfortunately he does it only for selfuse because the production cost is too high to be lucrative for selling.

In return Bees Putty is vastly superior to other modelling putties as it is dimensionally very stable even while uncured and has a long handling time. The setting time can easily be sped up by warmth, just put your sculpted miniature near a lamp and the curing time will be shortened significantly.
The best about it is, that in difference to modelling putties like "Green Stuff", it can be sanded, scraped, drilled, filed, etc. very well after curing.

At the moment Stefan does some research to create a similar modelling putty for sale, so keep in mind to check his homepage once in a while:

OK, that's it from me for today, stay tuned for the grand final, when the squad-leader of the Black Templar Terminators will be finished.  :-)

One more of the Emperor's Finest

On Wednesday my workbench was totally deserted as I visited a seminar for business start-up.
That's why yesterday was a very busy day for me having to make up for the lost sculpting time.

Working was fun though and so I finished Terminator number four, and also did a lot of sculpting for Terminator number 5 and the squad-leader.

This is what Terminator 4 looks like:

Next in line will be Terminator 5, completing the job with the Sergeant of the squad.

Cheerio,

On we go...

Hiho again!

What can I say, the dwarves are surely beckoning me, but I still have to do the Terminator job, so there...

Another two have been finished, photographed with the helmet and the arms of the first one, as they are the only ones I have been sent for reference.

In the end they will be equiped with different helmets and arms, sporting a variety of weapons for close combat.

Three more conversions to go, so stay tuned.  :-)

What? No dwarf?

Nope!

Rather sad, but I have to be a bit disloyal to my dwarf project.
There is a job on my workbench that does not allow further delay.

I have to convert a squad of 6 regular Games Workshop Terminators into "Black Templar Terminators" for a guy who has birthday next month, so there is a deadline to meet.

Because the miniatures will be painted and space for freehands on the breast desired, the drapery on the breastplate was done sparingly.

Here you can see a picture of the first conversion:

I have started the others already, so more conversions will follow soon.
